Anita Nayyar on Transforming Dubai’s Agency Landscape Through Trust and Innovation

Interview by Tessa Dewing for The Business of Modelling podcast

Anita Nayyar never expected her modelling career to lead to entrepreneurship. The Dubai-based agency founder walked on international catwalks for designs such as Christian Siriano and Badgley Mischka before setting up her own agency. Today, as CEO of ANT Management, she’s making a change to how agencies support their talent in the Middle East.

We sat down with Anita to discuss her journey from model to business owner, and why treating talent like family is so important to success.

“I Knew There Had to Be a Better Way”

After years of modelling all over the world, Anita experienced the industry challenges from the inside. “I saw how models were treated, the financial instability, the lack of genuine support. I realised I could build something different – an agency that cares about it’s people.”

Starting ANT Management wasn’t just about business; it was about creating the support system “I wished I’d had as a model. Every decision we make comes back to one question: How does this serve our talent?”

From Catwalk Experience to Business Excellence

Anita’s modelling background gives her unique insight into talent needs. “Having walked in their shoes – literally – means I understand pressure, the uncertainty, the need for genuine guidance. That experience shapes everything we do.”

Her approach to talent management reflects this understanding: “We don’t just book jobs; we build careers. Financial stability, emotional support, long-term planning – these aren’t extras, they’re essentials.”

“Trust Is Everything in This Market”

Dubai’s fashion scene presented unique challenges for a new agency. “Building credibility in a competitive market takes time, but authenticity always wins. When models see that you genuinely care about their success, word spreads quickly.”

Her philosophy is simple: “We treat every model like family, that’s not marketing speak – it’s how we operate. When your talent trusts you completely, everything else falls into place.”

The Personal Touch That Changes Everything

Ask Anita about her proudest moments, and she says, “When a model tells me they finally feel supported, or when they land a campaign because we believed in them – those are the victories that matter.”

But it’s the day-to-day relationship building that defines her approach: “I know my models’ goals, their concerns, their families. That personal connection isn’t just nice to have – it’s essential for real representation.”

Looking Forward To The Future

As the industry evolves, Anita remains focused on authentic relationships: “Technology can change how we work, but it can’t replace genuine human connection. Our value is in understanding people, supporting dreams and building trust.”

Her advice for agency owners is clear: “Pur your talent first, always. Every policy, every decision and every interaction should serve their best interests. Success follows naturally from that foundation.”

Final Thoughts: It’s About Building Dreams
Anita’s core belief drives everything: “This industry is about people and their dreams. When you create an environment where talent can thrive financially, emotionally, professionally – you’re not just running an agency, you’re changing lives.”
